About
Sidelining Carbon makes meaningful climate action simple by helping professional sports teams offset their carbon emissions while traveling during their season(s). Teams and their players are societal role models, by incorporating responsible environmental stewardship into everyday life, we are going to change the culture around environmentalism— from an inconvenience to the norm.
How It Works
The players and/or team itself will cover the costs associated with offsetting their carbon. The Conservation Coalition, The Nature Conservancy, and Players For The Planet are partnering with Cool Effect to create an interactive landing page where teams AND individuals can calculate their carbon footprint and purchase the equivalent amount of carbon offsets.
Why Carbon Offsets?
Carbon pollution everywhere. We all contribute to it and it is a key contributor to our warming climate. A carbon offset is a donated dollar amount to a project that is scientifically validated to remove carbon from our atmosphere. The carbon offsets purchased through Sidelining Carbon fund the Hawk Mountain forest in Pennsylvania and Chestnut Mountain in Tennessee.
